     <description>In a new review study, scientists from the University of Ostrava and the University of Regensburg summarize recent advances in innovative biosensors capable of detecting thrombin, a key blood protein, with extreme sensitivity. Thrombin not only plays a role in blood clotting, but may also indicate serious health conditions, from heart disease to cancer metastasis.</description>

     <description>The top performers of the 33rd Vojtěch Jarník International Mathematical Competition have been announced. In the younger category, first place was shared by Fedir Fedorov from the Technical University of Berlin and Jan Strehn from the University of Vienna, while the older category was once again dominated by Łukasz Orski from Jagiellonian University in Kraków, marking his third consecutive victory.</description>
